King (and Queen) of the Mountains

The problem with training up to now is there are no climbs in the British Isles that compare to the Alps.

To try to begin to remedy this, Emily and I sauntered down to Box Hill (again) and attempted to climb the zig-zag road 10 times. Whilst having to descend the road each time does offer some respite after each ascent, thus not allowing for a true long climb, 1,300m climbed in a short space of time meant the ride provided very useful training.

The first 6-7 ascents were good, but the thighs began to fade for the last few climbs. I kept going though, as did Emily, and cake and coke at the cafe afterwards was a great reward.

Motored back to London afterwards, showing only a few effects of our exertions.
